Sloowy is the first beach furniture sharing service. After a year of testing, product improvements and interested investors, the time has come to create a powerful branding away from the image bank illustrations so often used in the start-up universe.

solution

The proposal was not only to design characters but to create a whole storytelling that connects to the target group. A universe of Sloowy characters that represent the brand and at the same time tell their own story. We wanted to achieve a ‘playful’ brand, so the project was developed with social networks in mind and with the intention to transmit more the feeling of a video game than a standard app. This was to generate expectation and engagement.

The characters were developed based on a ‘Venice Beach California’ aesthetics. It is especially known for its boardwalk that is full of peculiar characters, skate & surfing, souvenir stores, bike rentals - the true identity of this beach front. And this is precisely where we took the brand.

Along with the design of the characters, we developed some style guides for the brand book, app and website where the characters were integrated into this environment.
